Welcome!
AD/HD is a lifelong disorder. Sure, the symptoms can change with age,
but for many people the disorder can continue to create great difficulty
when it’s not treated. Many people with undiagnosed and untreated
AD/HD encounter formidable obstacles at home, in relationships, and in
the workplace.
There is good news, however: Help is
available. If you’re new to AD/HD and CHADD, here are some steps
you can take to begin to address this serious but highly treatable
disorder.
- Learn the basics about adult AD/HD and view a
symptom checklist.
- Request an adult information packet, and
tell us more about you.
- Visit a medical professional to begin
the evaluation process.
- Find a CHADD support group in your area.
- Join CHADD and start receiving Attention magazine, gain access to
past articles, and receive a complimentary copy of The NEW
CHADD Information and Resource Guide to AD/HD, plus much
more!
Once you have taken some of the basic
steps, you’ll find that the websites of CHADD and the National Resource Center on
AD/HD are full of information that will continue to improve
your life well after the diagnosis. We invite you to continue to visit
our sites. We’re here for you every step of the way.
Congratulations on all the progress you’re making!
