The Groundbreaking Stage
Performance about ADHD Comes to DC!
Canadian Stars Dispel ADHD Myths and Misinformation in New Show

April 29, 2011, Landover, MDCHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit /Hyperactivity Disorder) the national organization that serves adults and children with ADHD, presents a whole new perspective on adult ADHD in a funny new stage production called “Now What?!” from celebrated comedians Rick Green and Patrick McKenna, producers of the award winning PBS Documentary “ADD & Loving It?!” and joined by ADHD expert Umesh Jain, M.D. “Now What?!” dispels the myths and misinformation surrounding adult ADHD and takes the audience on a hilarious and transformative journey combining humor, drama, first-person stories, and interactive exercises. ADHD is one of the most misunderstood and misdiagnosed disorders. Research shows that over 12 million Americans have ADHD and less than 1 in 4 know it! ADHD symptoms come in multiples and are often experienced with such intensity they can make daily life a perpetual struggle. Left untreated ADHD can lead to addiction, divorce, bankruptcy, accidents, depression, anxiety, and worse.

Umesh Jain and Rick Green created this funny, lively and interactive experience which helps adults recognize the symptoms of ADHD, understand the process for a proper diagnosis, and become familiar with the various treatment options. The primary message of  “Now What?!” is that much can be done in treatment and diagnosis should not lead to fear. “A proper diagnosis can be the first step in helping people transform their lives,” explains Dr. Jain. “I am constantly inspired by what my patients are able to achieve. The key to success with ADHD is to develop an understanding of your strengths and challenges, and then embrace those traits.”

When treated properly, ADHD can be managed and even harnessed to the point that it becomes a driving factor in a highly successful life. People such as Sir Richard Branson, quarterback Terry Bradshaw, Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, political savant James Carville, comedian Howie Mandel, TV host Ty Pennington, and many other famous and successful people have acknowledged they have ADHD.

In this exciting performance Rick, Patrick and Umesh explore everything from careers and finances to relationships and parenting; from the history of ADD to coping tools and strategies.

Join us for this entertaining and interactive experience that is not to be missed!
