Frequently Asked Questions
The National
Resource Center on AD/HD (NRC) provides answers to most of the
commonly asked questions about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
AD/HD is the most commonly diagnosed neurobehavioral disorder in
children. Although a child's symptoms may change as he/she gets
older, most individuals do not outgrow AD/HD. In fact, for most
individuals with AD/HD, symptoms continue into adulthood. It is
estimated that 4-6 percent of adults continue to face many of the
challenges of AD/HD.
If you or someone you love has AD/HD, you probably have many
questions. Our list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) addresses
many of these, which include questions such as:
• Is there a simple test to diagnose
AD/HD?
• Can you help me find a summer camp for my
child?
• Can a woman with AD/HD take stimulant
medication while pregnant?
