Parent to Parent: Family Training on ADHD provides parents with a comprehensive understanding of ADHD as well as strategies to improve life at home and school. Designed by parents for parents, this training provides information from the parent’s perspective.
Comprehensive handouts and resources are provided during the live class. You must attend the live class to receive resources.
A recording will be provided to all registrants.
Introduction to ADHD
This training is designed to help you:
Describe how ADHD is defined in the DSM-5 (book used by doctors in diagnosing psychological conditions).
Learn the attention process.
List ADHD emotional characteristics.
Analyze ADHD factors to think about when diagnosing and managing ADHD.
Compare other disorders that mimic ADHD.
Describe common co-occurring disorders with ADHD.
Explain diagnosing ADHD, including diagnosing the inattentive, predominately hyperactive/impulsive and combined presentations.
List problems that may be experienced by untreated ADHD.
Discuss ADHD with your child or teen with ADHD
