Many of the strategies for managing behaviors in children with ADHD can also be helpful for their siblings who don’t have ADHD. However, there are notable differences in emotional and behavioral regulation in children with ADHD that make it necessary to provide them with additional support and strategies. Their challenges and the resources their parents need may further stress their families. A better understanding of strategies for improving emotional and behavioral regulation among all family members will set the stage for happier family relationships and improvements in behavior.
