The Sycamore School follows a mastery-based learning model that integrates academic development, social-emotional growth, and civic engagement. We serve a cross-section of students in the 5th-12th grade, including those who have anxiety, ADHD, and/or Autism. As an inclusive and progressive school, we are proud to serve a large LGBTQIA+ community. TSS creates a meaningful learning process, whereby teachers personalize instruction according to students’ interests, needs, and aptitudes. Learning is self-paced, offering both remediation and accelerated learning. Executive functioning and social-emotional skills are taught alongside academic skills. We’re intentionally small, maintaining a 1:6 teacher to student ratio. TSS offers a purposeful education that prepares students for college and the workplace through explicitly teaching higher-level thinking skills and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement with the community.
