Study Details

Are you interested in how communication and diagnostic reasoning intersect in medicine?

I’m a Ph.D. student at Ohio University conducting a research study exploring the intersection between communication, cues, and diagnostic processes.

Who can participate?
Medical students, residents, fellows, and healthcare providers (M.D., D.O., APP, etc.) located in the United States. You should not participate if you are not 18, not located in the United States, a current medical student, resident, fellow, or provider (M.D., D.O., APP, etc.).

What you’ll do:

  • Complete a short online survey (about 20-25 minutes)
  • Review two hypothetical patient profiles and provide diagnostic impressions
  • Share your professional insights — all confidential
  • Follow the link at the end of the survey to enter your information for the $10 gift card (first 275 participants).

Compensation:
The first 275 participants will receive a $10 Visa gift card. Due to funding limitations, I can only offer an incentive to participate to the first 275 participants. At the end of the survey, you will see a new link to provide your information to receive payment.

IRB Protocol: FY26-205
