EDITORIAL ADVISORY BOARD

The Editorial Advisory Board is comprised of professionals and consumers from various disciplines and backgrounds who possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ADHD. EAB members provide guidance for the editorial content and direction of Attention magazine. Their expertise and credibility ensure that the magazine reflects current published science and is responsive to the needs and concerns of individuals with ADHD across the lifespan, as well as their families.

Carey A. Heller, PsyD

Carey A. Heller, PsyD, Chair

Carey A. Heller, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist based in Maryland. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD and executive function issues. Learn more at hellerpsychologygroup.com. The coordinator for the Montgomery County chapter of CHADD, Dr. Heller also serves as chair of the editorial advisory board for Attention magazine.

David Palmiter, PhD, ABPP

David Palmiter, PhD, ABPP, Deputy Chair

David Palmiter, PhD, ABPP, is a board-certified clinical psychologist and the clinical director at The Chesapeake Center in Bethesda, Maryland, one of the largest ADHD specialty clinics in the country. He is also professor emeritus at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. Dr. Palmiter is a past president of PPA, serves as an examiner for the American Board of Professional Psychology, and has served on the board of directors of two local CHADD chapters. The author of over three dozen professional publications (including two books on promoting resilience in youth), he has completed over two hundred fifty continuing education presentations for mental health professionals across the country, partnered on over three hundred media projects for audiences around the globe, and received numerous awards for his work. Dr. Palmiter weaves magic into his professional services to promote inspiration, meaning, and joy. He has been married to psychiatric social worker Lia Richards-Palmiter for over thirty years; together they have three adult children, all of whom are either lawyers or on the path to becoming a lawyer (go figure: two mental health professionals churn out three attorneys). His personal interests include the too-often tragic exploits of the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Commanders, low stakes poker, golf, and fishing.

Joyce Cooper-Kahn, PhD

Joyce Cooper-Kahn, PhD

Joyce Cooper-Kahn, PhD, is a clinical child psychologist and coauthor of two books on executive functioning: Late, Lost, and Unprepared:  A Parent’s Guide to Helping Children with Executive Functioning (Woodbine, 2008) and Boosting Executive Skills in the Classroom: A Practical Guide for Educators (Wiley, 2013). She is a former co-chair of Attention’s editorial advisory board.

Jeff Copper

Jeff Copper, MBA, PCC, PCAC, ACG, CPCC

Jeff Copper is an attention coach and expert on attention issues. He founded DIG Coaching Practice and is host and founder of Attention Talk Radio and Attention Talk Video. He coaches individuals with ADD/ADHD symptoms who are seeking personal and business results by helping them realize their potential. Copper received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, an MBA from University of Tampa, professional designations from ICF, PAAC, and certification programs at ADDCA and CTI. He is a member of ADDA, CHADD, ACO, PAAC, and ICF, and serves on the editorial advisory board of CHADD’s Attention magazine.

Ann Dolin, MEd

Ann Dolin, MEd

As a former teacher, author, and speaker, Ann K. Dolin, MEd, is committed to equipping parents and students to succeed academically and enjoy the K-12 journey together. Since 1998, her team at Educational Connections (ectutoring.com) has helped thousands of kids overcome obstacles and achieve goals through one-to-one tutoring, test prep, executive function coaching, and college consulting. Dolin is an expert on academics and ADHD. She was a board member of the former Washington, DC, chapter of CHADD, has spoken several times at the annual CHADD conference, and has been featured in the Washington Post and Parents Magazine. She serves on the editorial advisory board of CHADD’s Attention magazine and on the board of the International Dyslexia Association.

Rachel Feldman

Rachel Feldman, LCSW, ADHD-CCSP, ASDCS

Rachel Feldman, LCSW, ADHD-CCSP, ASDCS, is a licensed clinical social worker and neurodiversity-affirming therapist with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families navigating neurodivergence. She currently provides psychotherapy and consultation through her private practice, specializing in neurodivergent mental health and parent support. She earned her MSW from Columbia University, where she completed clinical internships within school, vocational, and medical settings. She went on to work as a bilingual (Spanish) psychotherapist at YAI Center for Specialty Therapy in NYC, where she supported neurodivergent children and families for five years before transitioning full-time to private practice. Feldman holds certifications as an ADHD-CCSP and ASD-CS. She completed an advanced certificate in applied behavior analysis (ABA) at Hunter College but chose not to pursue BCBA certification, acknowledging valid critiques from the autistic community. Instead, she integrates behavioral concepts through a non-pathologizing, affirming lens. She serves on the advisory board of the award-winning Bergen County, New Jersey, CHADD chapter and is passionate about reducing stigma through education and advocacy. Her presentations on ADHD/AuDHD reflect a commitment to fostering greater understanding across clinical, community, and family systems. Her work is grounded in lived experience and strengths-based care, with a deep commitment to equity, accessibility, and authentic connection. As a member of CHADD’s national board of directors, she brings her clinical insight, dedication to inclusive care, and passion for reshaping how we understand and support ADHD/AuDHD individuals and their families.

Cindy Goldrich

Cindy Goldrich, EdM, ADHD-CCSP

Cindy Goldrich, EdM, ADHD-CCSP, is a mental health counselor, certified ADHD clinical services provider, and an internationally recognized expert in ADHD and executive function support. She is the founder of PTS Coaching, a leading provider of training and coaching services for parents, educators, and allied professionals. Through her signature programs—the ADHD Parent Coach Academy and the ADHD Teacher Training Academy—she has trained professionals worldwide to support children with ADHD and executive function challenges. Her approach emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and practical strategies grounded in the latest research. Goldrich is the author of 8 Keys to Parenting Children with ADHD, a compassionate guide for caregivers, and coauthor of ADHD, Executive Function & Behavioral Challenges in the Classroom, a resource for educators seeking to create supportive learning environments. In addition to her training programs, she and her staff provide direct coaching to parents, students, and adults, helping them navigate the complexities of ADHD with confidence and resilience. Her work is characterized by a deep commitment to empowering individuals and families to thrive. Goldrich holds a master’s degree in education in counseling psychology from Columbia University, Teachers College. She is a contributing author to CHADD’s Attention magazine and to ADDitude magazine. Her dedication to the ADHD community is further demonstrated through her involvement with CHADD, where she contributes her expertise to various initiatives. With a blend of professional insight and heartfelt dedication, Goldrich continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by ADHD.

Zara Harris

Zara Harris, MS, OT

Zara Harris serves as deputy chair of Attention’s editorial advisory board and a member of CHADD’s conference committee. With over thirty years of experience as a pediatric occupational therapist, she is licensed in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Specializing in helping students who are struggling with handwriting, homework, attention, time management, and organization, she has worked with international schools on three different continents.

Jane Indergaard

Jane Indergaard, DNP, RN

Jane Indergaard, DNP, RN, is a retired associate professor of nursing and scholar in residence at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She has more than four decades of clinical nursing practice and thirty-seven years in higher education. Her expertise spans behavioral health nursing and critical care/emergency trauma nursing, as well as research review, evidence-based practice, psychoeducation, and translating research into practical clinical and educational applications. A nationally and internationally recognized speaker, Dr. Indergaard has more than twenty-two years of experience in education, advocacy, and outreach for individuals and families affected by ADHD and is a frequent contributor to Attention magazine. She serves on CHADD’s board of directors, the editorial advisory board for Attention, and as co-chair of the advocacy and public policy committee. She is a co-founder of the award-winning Red River Valley CHADD chapter. Her advocacy and policy work is grounded in nursing, education, governance, and community leadership and informed by global health and education initiatives, with a focus on human-centered, evidence-informed outcomes across the lifespan. Dr. Indergaard’s work is further shaped by her lived experience as a woman diagnosed later in life with ADHD and as a parent, along with her husband, of three children who have ADHD, strengthening her commitment to bridging research, clinical care, and public policy to drive meaningful, sustainable change for individuals and families.

Yuanyuan Jiang, PhD, CPsych

Yuanyuan Jiang, PhD

Yuanyuan Jiang, PhD, CPsych, is an assistant professor in the school of counselling, psychotherapy, and special education at the University of British Columbia. She directs the Attention, Behaviour, and Cognitions (ABC) Lab, which focuses on studying how attention, behavior, and cognitions interact to improve assessments and interventions for children with inattentiveness and/or hyperactivity/impulsivity.

Mark Katz, PhD

Mark Katz, PhD

A clinical and consulting psychologist, Mark Katz, PhD, is the director of Learning Development Services, an educational, psychological, and neuropsychological center in San Diego, California. As a contributing editor to Attention magazine, he writes the Promising Practices column and serves on the editorial advisory board. He is also a former member of CHADD’s professional advisory board and a recipient of the CHADD Hall of Fame Award.

Liz Lewis

Liz Lewis

Liz Lewis is a writer, researcher, and coach dedicated to supporting women and mothers with ADHD. Through her website, Substack, coaching, and (very infrequent) speaking, she offers practical support for ADHD women navigating motherhood, mental health, and daily life. Lewis has facilitated peer support groups, spoken at national conferences, and spent over ten years researching and writing about ADHD. She is currently wrapping up her first book exploring late-in-life diagnosis in women. When she’s not coaching or writing, she enjoys reading, fitness, and spending time with her husband, son, and their very opinionated dog.

LeAnn Levering, MBA, MSW, LCSW

LeAnn Levering, LCSW, is a psychotherapist specializing in ADHD in adults. She provides individual therapy and leads a neurodiversity-affirming ADHD skills group that blends education with practical strategies drawn from CBT, DBT, ACT, occupational therapy, and performance science. Levering brings a unique perspective as a late-diagnosed ADHDer, a former tech professional, and a mother of two. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and women’s studies from Duke University, a master’s degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s degree in social work from The Catholic University of America. Her work is grounded in compassion, lived experience, and evidence-based support.

Katherine McGavern

Katherine McGavern coaches adults with ADHD and is a certified Parent to Parent teacher. She gives presentations on ADHD to teachers (K-12), community organizations, and parent groups; provides training on ADHD to student teachers at The College of New Jersey; and is a member of the editorial advisory board of Attention. McGavern is a cofounding member of CHADD Mercer County, and facilitates their monthly meetings in Princeton, New Jersey.

Alison Pritchard, PhD, ABPP

Alison Pritchard, PhD, ABPP, is a board-certified child and adolescent clinical psychologist and the co-director of the department of neuropsychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. She is also an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She serves on the editorial advisory board of Attention magazine.

Margaret Sibley

Margaret H. Sibley, PhD

Margaret H. Sibley, PhD, is an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children's Research Institute. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2012. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Florida and Washington and a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. Dr. Sibley’s work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in adolescents and young adults. She developed a parent-teen therapy for ADHD (Supporting Teens’ Autonomy Daily) that combines motivational interviewing and skills training for parents and teens. She has authored or coauthored over eighty scientific papers on ADHD and published a book with Guilford Press on treating executive functioning and motivation deficits in teens. She holds grant funding from the National Institute of Mental Health and the Institute of Education Sciences with past projects funded by the Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation and the American Psychological Foundation. She has received awards for her work from CHADD, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the American Psychological Association. Dr. Sibley serves on editorial boards for the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, School Mental Health, and Assessment. She is a member of CHADD’s professional advisory board and serves on the editorial advisory board for CHADD’s Attention magazine.

Suzanne Sophos, CMPSS

Suzanne Sophos, CMPSS, is president of CHADD’s board of directors, where she provides strategic and governance leadership in support of CHADD’s mission to empower and improve the lives of people affected by ADHD. She also serves as director of CHADD of California, overseeing one of the nation’s largest and most active ADHD communities, including a robust online presence and more than thirty monthly peer support groups, educational meetings, and social gatherings across the state. Sophos represents CHADD on the leadership steering team for the International Conference on ADHD and serves on the editorial advisory board of Attention magazine. She was honored with the CHADD Volunteer of the Year Award in 2022, and she has twice led chapters recognized as CHADD Chapter of the Year. An adult with both autism and ADHD (AuDHD), as well as a twice-exceptional (2e) individual and parent of a neurodivergent child, Sophos brings lived experience to her work as a certified peer support specialist, ADHD/AuDHD coach, and support group facilitator. She is also the founder of Brave Spaces, a peer support and coaching practice. Sophos speaks to the national ADHD and AuDHD community—individuals, families, clinicians, and leaders—on the role of community infrastructure in supporting follow-through and sustainable change. Prior to this work, she spent two decades as a business strategy consultant for Fortune 100 and global brands, including AT&T, Toyota, Honda, and Nintendo. She is a graduate of Texas Christian University and is based in Los Angeles.

Max Wiznitzer

Max Wiznitzer, MD

Max Wiznitzer, MD, is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Medicine. He trained in pediatrics and developmental disorders at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and in pediatric neurology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He then did a National Institutes of Health funded fellowship in disorders of higher cortical functioning in children at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. Since 1986, he has been a pediatric neurologist at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He is an associate professor of pediatrics, neurology, and international health at Case Western Reserve University. He has a longstanding interest in neurodevelopmental disabilities, especially ADHD and autism, and has been involved in local, state, and national committees and initiatives, including autism treatment research, Ohio autism service guidelines, autism screening, and early identification of developmental disabilities. He is on the editorial board of Lancet Neurology and the Journal of Child Neurology and lectures nationally and internationally about various neurodevelopmental disabilities. He also serves on the editorial advisory board for CHADD’s Attention magazine.
