Multiple Risk Factors Tied to Childhood Suicide
The study analyzed data from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS). The child suicide decedents were between ages 5 and 11 years, and suicides occurred between 2013 and 2017 in 37 states...The authors found that a third of these children had a specific mental health concern identified prior to their suicide, most commonly attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, and other comorbid disorders.
