Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is associated with depression in young adulthood, and some evidence suggests that ADHD genetic liability may have a causal effect on major depression in later life, according to an article published in Psychological Medicine.

Study finds link between hoarding and ADHD

Researchers have discovered a link between hoarding disorder (HD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) among UK adults...Led by Dr. Sharon Morein of Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), the research compared adults with ADHD, recruited through an NHS Trust, with similar individuals without ADHD, and found that approximately 20% of people with ADHD reported clinically significant levels of hoarding.

For decades, neuropsychologists have used the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children test as the gold-standard intelligence quotient (IQ) test to determine the intellectual abilities of children with special needs. However, this comprehensive test can take up to 2 hours to complete, and many children with special needs have a difficult time participating in such long tests.

Akili’s ADHD digital therapy approved in Europe

Akili’s focus in the near term is a US launch following FDA approval earlier this month, but said it is “exploring expansion opportunities” in Europe.
