Gwen has vast experience advocating to protect the educational rights of children who are being overlooked by the public school system. Gwen attends IEP, 504, and pre-hearing resolution meetings. After an initial parent interview, thorough review of school records, and observation or interview with the child, Gwen assists parents in determining and accessing services the child will need to be successful in school. Gwen is a member of ICEA and, as an Educational Consultant, assists families in determining appropriate school placement. She has a wealth of knowledge about residential treatment centers in and out of the state of California. She assists parents in locating appropriate residential programs for students with emotional, learning, and developmentally-based disorders. When warranted, Gwen assists parents (through the IEP process) in securing non-public school and residential placement. Gwen also assists parents who wish to privately fund placement for their teen or young adult.
